01. boy afraid

i started doing this one in me and manous studio in berlin, autumn 2002. first i
called it "eva-01" after the neon genesis evangelion anime series, but 
eventually renamed it to honor one of the best smiths songs, "girl afraid." 
march 2003.

02. new balance

the only gameboy track on this cd! i did this one mostly on the ryan air plane 
from berlin to london, when i, manou and kasia were heading to the 
micromusic.net london festival in june 2002. one of my happiest times. london 
people were nice and the weather was great! i had a shock when this track was 
very messed up hours before the gig, but somehow i managed to put it back 
together again. recorded september 2002.

03. pop5

made summer 2003, recorded july 2004. i don't remember much about making this 
one, guess i never thought it would make a full track, but a year later i just 
dug up the loose parts on a boring day and put them together. it seemed to work!

04. we, the soccer team

this one was made during my first two weeks in berlin, within a month from the 
world trade center bombings. i lived in my friend maartens room very 
temporarily, didn't know where to move next, the future was full of 
possibilites. exciting days! 
recorded 17 days after 9/11, 2001.

one of my latest and most fulfilled tracks, this one has all the role model 
ingredients probably. july 2004

06. granu girlz

this one was made about the same time as track 04. inspirations i had those days
were dj rush and all the other shuffly chicago house people, and also destiny's 
child, although you don't hear it much on exactly these tracks. recorded 
october 2001.

these tracks were made using musicline editor on the amiga (1,3,4,5,6) or little
sound dj on the old gray gameboy (track 2).
